The New Manatee Jungle Explorer has been designed specifically for cruising along the Amazon rainforest rivers. This floating hotel combines plenty of jungle adventure with the comforts of home. The comforts of home will not have to be missed, as you slowly leave civilization behind. This rare journey will be packed with lots of adventure, exploring, animal and bird watching, cultural interaction and plenty of magical surprises in the largest unexplored wilderness on earth. This boat can accommodate up to 30 passengers in comfortable cabins with private bathrooms with hot water and air conditioning. The boat has multilingual naturalist guides, laundry service, bar, saloon, sundeck and a spacious dinning room serving unique national and international cuisine. The service on the Manatee is excellent and personalized.

The Manatee boasts the highest standards of safety, equipped with two 250 HP motors that provide a 12 knots speed navigation; two generators of 60KW for 110 and 220 volts/ 60 cycles; Furuno GPS, depth radar, radio VHF and HF; satellite telephone, video and cable television.

We offer 4 and 5 Day programs which include walks through different kinds of forests, canoe rides and visits to indigenous centers.

5 day Sample Itinerary

1-Arrival in Coca on the shores of the Napo river.Your adventure has just began as you start descending the Napo river, slowly leaving civilization behind. This rare journey will be packed with lots of adventure, exploring, animal and bird sighting, cultural interaction and plenty of magical surprises in the largest unexplored wilderness on earth.

2- Explore black water streams, lagoons and flooded forest habitat, where we'll fish for piranhas. With a little luck we'll see pink fresh-water dolphins, monkeys, sloths and a huge diversity of birds. Enjoy a jungle barbecue and Amazon hammock siesta, a refreshing swim and back to our vessel in time for dinner and a lecture at the terrace-bar of the Manatee.

3- After breakfast visit a parrot salt lick and trek into Primary rainforest. Arrival for lunch at a native campsite. Afternoon swim at a lake and some optional fishing before returning by "quilla" paddle canoe to the Manatee.  Evening lecture at our inviting terrace-bar.

4- Early-bird bird watching while the Manatee journeys upriver while hundreds of parrots and macaws take flight. Take a quilla ride through winding streams and a towering canopy, bordered by native huts. Return to the Manatee in time for lunch.  Afternoon visit of a native home, which is surrounded by locally cultivated plants, such as pineapples, bananas, tapioca, cocoa and coffee.

5- Morning arrival to Coca . Return to Quito
