This thorough city tour of Quito, declared by the UNESCO as Cultural Patrimony of Mankind, will transport you from the modern cosmopolitan Quito to Colonial Quito and also from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere. The days visit will include great scenic lookouts, famous colonial cathedrals, governmental buildings and interesting museums. Your tour will include most of the following sites: El Panecillo, Congress, the Square of Independence, various museums and the Cathedrals of San Francisco, San Agustin, Santo Domingo, La Basilica, La Compañia and Guapulo. After the detailed city tour, we will head north until we come across the Equator line, latitude 0º, where you can put one foot on each hemisphere. The visit also includes the Pululahua Volcano lookout, the ethnographic museum, the "hands on" Inti Raymi museum and the Equatorial village "Mitad del Mundo", which is a replica of a colonial town with its main plaza, church and bullring. You will also have free time to stroll amongst the many handicrafts shops. Portions of the tour will be done on foot and in private transportation.
