The Cotopaxi National Park & Quilotoa crater lake

The main highlights of this Overnighter are the Cotopaxi National Park and the Emerald colored Quilotoa Crater lake. Other highlights are indigenous communities with its lively markets and colorful people, Colonial haciendas, Cotopaxi Refuge Hut ( 4,800 m ) & Glacier, unique flora and fauna and great scenic views of the Andes and its volcanic peaks. This trip is almost too much, for just two days!

Baños and its waterfalls

The main highlights of this Overnighter is the town of Baños. Baños is a friendly, diverse town, which offers activities for everybody. We will see many cascading waterfalls, deep gorges, tropical and Andean landscapes, indigenous markets, Important religious sites and (conditions permitting) the eruptive Tungurahua volcano. Other activities that can be done on this trip are; hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, white water rafting, just to mention a few. A visit to Baños is a must while in Ecuador.

Cotopaxi park & "DEVILS NOSE" train

Polylepis lodge, El Angel National park

The main highlights of this Overnighter is the serenity and uniqueness of the Angel National Park. Our lodge is nestled (11,600 ft.) in a deep glacial valley and surrounded by a Polylepis forest.. A three day journey will allow us to visit a colonial hacienda where sugarcane juice is extracted and asparagus is farmed and visit an Afro-Ecuadorian community and see their crafty mask making. This trip is almost too much, for just two days!

Otavalo and surrounding communities

The main highlights of this Overnighter is the famous and bustling Otavalo market. Otavalo is considered the most important indigenous market in South America, and when you see it, we are sure you will agree. We will also visit the spectacular crater lake Cuicocha and the beautiful lake of San Pablo. Lodging will be in an old colonial hacienda. This trip will give you an in depth view of Otavalo and its people.

El Aliso cloud forest log cabin

The main highlights of this Overnighter are the serenity and uniqueness of being in pristine Cloud Forest. El Aliso ( 7,000 ft ) is a large Log Cabin located on the western flanks of the Andes, in the Amazon basin, where the only sounds are the streams and songs of a huge variety of birds. On our way back to Quito, we will relax in the Papallacta hot springs. We highly recommend this trip for people who enjoy the outdoors, nature, fishing and bird watching.

Papallacta hot springs

This is, more than anything, a romantic and relaxing getaway. Your lodge ( 11,500 ft ) is nestled in a deep valley with great views of the Western Andes and cloud forest. If you want to get out of the water, there are activities such as hiking in cloud forest and Páramo (highland tundra), trout fishing, horseback riding and bird watching. If your feeling romantic or just want to relax in the hot springs, this is definitely your trip!

Bellavista cloud forest lodge

The Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge is balanced over a sharp ridge, nestled on the western flanks of Pichincha Volcano. This unique dome shaped and cozy cloud forest lodge is ideal for relaxing, bird watching (hummingbirds), hiking, seeing unique flora and enjoying incredible views on clear mornings of the coastal plains. This journey is highly recommended if you have a couple of free days.

Reventador crater camping

This is an exclusive expedition being organized solely for COV participants and is subject to weather and volcanic activity. This is a camping trip and involves strenuous hiking. The journey starts with a stunning 5-8 hour hike through tropical forest, Cloud forest and finally opens up to the smoldered floor of the crater, where the dome, pyroclastic flows and lava flows are very evident.
