Active Guagua Pichincha volcanoe

Guagua Pichincha looms over Quito and has dumped ash on Quito many times. This Expedition will take us up a windy, 4x4 road to the rim of the crater... you can see all the way south to Chimborazo and all the way north into Colombia and everything in between. This trip can also be done for sunset or spending a night at the refuge hut or camping in the crater.


Andean horseback riding

Ecuador could possibly be one of the best places in the world to explore by horseback, just as the Conquistadors. The amazing and incredible landscapes are perfect for nature, photography and horse lovers. Tour includes: lunch, all the necessary equipment and a horse fit to your level of experience and terrain.

Cayambe town and mountain

This beautiful drive will take us north east of Quito with great views of the central Andes to the town of Cayambe, where we will try and see how they make the famous bizcochos and queso de hoja (Biscuits and leaf wrapped cheese). Cayambe is the third highest peak in Ecuador.



Full Otavalo tour

Market day! Only 2 hours north, Otavalo is considered one of the most important indigenous market in South America. The day will start with a drive through dramatic Andean landscapes. Visits will be done to the towns of Cayambe (cheese & biscuits), Cotacachi (leather goods), Peguche (tapestries & pan flutes) and Carabuela (weavings). A visit will also be done to the Cuicocha crater lake and the San Pablo lagoon.


Full Quito tour

This thorough city tour of Quito, declared by the UNESCO as Cultural Patrimony of Mankind, will transport you from the modern cosmopolitan Quito to Colonial Quito and also from the Southern Hemisphere to the Northern Hemisphere.
After the detailed city tour, we will head north until we come across the Equator line, latitude 0º, where you can put one foot on each hemisphere. The visit also includes the Pululahua Volcano lookout... You will also have free time to stroll amongst the many handicrafts shops.



Mindo cloud forest

Known worldwide for its high biodiversity, this is the ideal place for seeing a great variety of birds and tropical plants all in the cloud forest with its cascading waterfalls and pristine rivers. You'll have the opportunity to hike, swim, bird watch and if your up for it, the new sports of canyoning or Innertubing. We highly recommend this trip.


Oyacachi hot springs

This incredible drive will take us through the Ecuadorian Highlands & colorful indigenous communities with their traffic jams of llamas, donkeys and goats on the way to a secluded hot spring hidden amongst towering hills & Cloud forest. This is a must trip, especially if you love the peacefulness of nature and the warmth of your own hot springs.


Quilotoa crater lake and surroundings

This is another incredible drive, through the Avenue of the volcanoes, over the Páramo and amongst indigenous communities and their friendly people. Quilotoa is a emerald-colored volcanic crater lake. You will have the opportunity to hike down to the sandy beach at the bottom of the crater and share the water with the sheep and other animals that make their daily trip down for a drink of water.

Cotopaxi National park

Two hours from Quito is the majestic and popular Cotopaxi National Park, home to the highest active volcano in the world. Here you'll have a chance to visit the refuge hut (4,800m / 15,400ft), glaciers and the Limpiopungo lake. Limpiopungo lake is a great place to see birds such as the Andean gull, ducks, hummingbirds, caracaras and even Condors. A clear day will give you a memorable journey.


Saquisilí indian market

08:00 Hotel Pick up.
The Saquisilí market is one of the largest and interesting markets in Ecuador due to its variety of products and the gathering of different indigenous groups. This huge market overflows this small town and you can find everything from llamas to exotic foods. The drive also takes you down the Avenue of the volcanoes. This market is every Thursday.


Volcano fly over

Unique opportunity to view the most important and interesting volcanoes in Ecuador in a couple of hours. Weather depending, we will fly over the craters of Guagua Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Altar, Sangay, Antisana, Cayambe and Reventador, all led by an expert volcanologist. Limited space on flights and subject to weather.

We will see many cascading waterfalls, deep gorges, tropical and Andean landscapes, indigenous markets, Important religious sites and (conditions permitting) the eruptive Tungurahua volcano. Other activities that can be done on this trip are; hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, white water rafting, just to mention a few. A visit to Baños is a must while in Ecuador.

Polylepis lodge, El Angel National park

The main highlights of this Overnighter is the serenity and uniqueness of the Angel National Park. Our lodge is nestled (11,600 ft.) in a deep glacial valley and surrounded by a Polylepis forest.. A three day journey will allow us to visit a colonial hacienda where sugarcane juice is extracted and asparagus is farmed and visit an Afro-Ecuadorian community and see their crafty mask making. This trip is almost too much, for just two days!


Otavalo and surrounding communities

The main highlights of this Overnighter is the famous and bustling Otavalo market. Otavalo is considered the most important indigenous market in South America, and when you see it, we are sure you will agree. We will also visit the spectacular crater lake Cuicocha and the beautiful lake of San Pablo. Lodging will be in an old colonial hacienda. This trip will give you an in depth view of Otavalo and its people.


El Aliso cloud forest log cabin

The main highlights of this Overnighter are the serenity and uniqueness of being in pristine Cloud Forest. El Aliso ( 7,000 ft ) is a large Log Cabin located on the western flanks of the Andes, in the Amazon basin, where the only sounds are the streams and songs of a huge variety of birds. On our way back to Quito, we will relax in the Papallacta hot springs. We highly recommend this trip for people who enjoy the outdoors, nature, fishing and bird watching.



Papallacta hot springs

This is, more than anything, a romantic and relaxing getaway. Your lodge ( 11,500 ft ) is nestled in a deep valley with great views of the Western Andes and cloud forest. If you want to get out of the water, there are activities such as hiking in cloud forest and Páramo (highland tundra), trout fishing, horseback riding and bird watching. If your feeling romantic or just want to relax in the hot springs, this is definitely your trip!


Bellavista cloud forest lodge

The Bellavista Cloud Forest Lodge is balanced over a sharp ridge, nestled on the western flanks of Pichincha Volcano. Otavalo market and surroundings

This detailed journey of the famous Otavalo market combines indigenous communities, picturesque towns and their handicrafts, serene lakes and views of the Andes. A full day will be spent at the market of Otavalo (livestock market and Poncho Plaza). If that wasn't enough, we will also visit the Cuicocha Crater lake, San Pablo lake and the Cochasqui ruins...


Baños - Misahualli circle

7 day package is a loop trip allowing us to explore the Highlands and the Amazon basin. The main visits include the Cotopaxi National park, Quilotoa crater lagoon, Baños, primary Rainforest and primary Cloud Forest. Sight seeing of the erupting Tungurahua Volcano!...



Cuenca city tour

The city of Cuenca is unique in many ways, the main characteristics being the cordial and friendly people proudly showing off their colonial streets, architecture and impressive cathedrals. Cuenca was recently declared Patrimony of Humankind. A city tour will allow us to visit the most important sites, like the Cathedral, Calderon Park, Turi Lookout, the famous "Panama Hat" factory and the Flower market. Cuenca is also known for its wide variety of handicrafts, like Marble, ceramics and fine jewelry of gold and silver. The Colonial charm and friendly people make Cuenca a recommended place to include in your visit.


Cajas National Park

he Cajas National Park is where the winds from the East meet the winds of the West and the Heavens meet the Earth. A place where the Andean Paramo is expressed at its best. Its flora and fauna are considered unique in the world; the Andean landscapes are perfect for those lovers of photography. The main highlight of the park are the serene, misty lakes nestled amongst jagged peaks. A must in the Cuenca region.




Gualaceo and Chordeleg

This trip will take us through a deep gorge and rolling hills, speckled with colorful towns and mosaic agricultural plots until we reach the village of Gualaceo with its lively produce market and workmanship of handicrafts. From there we will continue to Chorldeleg or " the Gold & Silver fair". We will also visit the community museum where we will find samples of all the handmade pieces such as ceramics, objects made with straw, gold and silver. Afternoon return to Cuenca.


Ingapirca ruins

This trip will take us through indigenous communities, speckled with colorful people and mosaic fields of all colors and shapes. The Ingapirca ruins are the most important ruins in Ecuador, built first by the Cañari people until they were conquered by the Inca peoples, who flourished in the area until the arrival of the Spaniards. Amongst the most important structures is the elliptic temple for the Sun. This is another must visit from Cuenca.
